Welcome June 2005: Welcome to the new and improve help for the Window Wizard! We are now adding Video tutorials to the help, to facilitate learning of the more advanced Window Wizard features. Of course, we support Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x. However, we do strongly recommend to use Firefox instead. We have been using Firefox for over a year internally, and it is fully supported by the window wizard. (See Walt Mossberg's article in the Wall Street Journal). Plugins & Other tools For the Window Wizard itself, we do not require the use of any plugin. As long as Javascript is enabled, that is all you will need to place an order. In fact we dont even rely on cookies. For the media site, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, found here. We also have price lists in Excel format and other documents in Word format. For these, you can either buy Microsoft Office, or you can get OpenOffice (the free version of Sun's StarOffice). For the help, if you want to access the tutorial section with videos, you will need Macromedia's Flash plugin. If not already installed, this can be found here. It also should automatically download if you dont have it installed and are trying to access our tutorials. Another usefull tool to use with Window Wizard is a "Paint" type program. With such a program, you can add your own logo/address information to the Window Wizard printable quote. Photoshop is a good tool for something like this but it has a steep learning curve. You can also use the Gimp. Is is easier to use and is free. Computing platform We believe you should be free to choose your computing platform. You can be using Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, Linux, Sun Solaris or any other Unix computer and access the Window Wizard. This gives you the choice. The Window Wizard itself works well with Firefox which is available for all operating systems. All the tools recommended above are available for all operating systems and work in the exact same way. In fact, the Video Tutorials are all done on Sun's Java Desktop System (Solaris), yet the experience is the same with Windows, Linux or Mac OS X. |
